CACity Urban Filmmaking Workshop: Vacant/Occupied

The 5-day workshop has been a huge success both locally and globally. We had 17 participants (7 architects, 4 filmmakers, 3 artists, 2 anthropologist and 1 historian) who made 9 short Belfast films. On 12 June, we screened and reviewed these Belfast films at QFT with a big celebration including a keynote speech by Prof Francois Penz , a world leader in the research area of architecture and cinema. We had outstanding reviewers, two local and two global (Prof F. Penz from University of Cambridge, Dr L. Savin from Tel Aviv University, N. Lyons from NI Screen and Prof J. Thompson from QUB (ICRH). They were impressed with the short films and the process of making them. Each participant left QFT with a film that they deserve to be proud of and great memories.
