We descussed our personal experiences in the field - from childhood memories of outdoor/drive-in cinemas to working as a projectionist, from filmmaking to writing on 'cinema and architecture in the city'. Many thanks to Lorraine Barry who has shown us the updated version of the Belfast prototype.

We also talked about the AIARG (All-Ireland Architecture Research Group) Conference that took place in January in Dublin. The Film Architecture session Dr Gul Kacmaz Erk organised was well-attended and the variety of work by the presenters was very promising. Film architecture discussions were interesting not only in our session but throughout the day. We quote here Kathleen James-Chakrabortty's observation: "I very much enjoyed your session and indeed was impressed with the whole conference. You must have been particularly pleased by how prominently film featured in the papers outside your session, as well as by how well your own group did."

The attendance to the screening of Drawing in Life by our members Dr Paul Clarke and Conor McCafferty, on the other hand, was unexpectedly high. We quote Paul's kind words about the screening: "Just a note to say a big thank you to you for your hospitality and kindness in hosting the film yesterday. It is always very enjoyable to join the CACity group and to find such enthusiasm for film. It was an excellent screening event and I am very grateful for all the handwork you and Frederico put in to make this possible. Conor and I really enjoyed it. It was also excellent that students and staff from both universities were able to share discussion and ideas in this open and enjoyable way. That's what it is all about!"
